This Attribute Glossary article provides definitions of attributes tied to a property's location.

Attribute 

Definition 

Archipelago ID 

A unique reference ID generated by our platform for every property during ingest. The Archipelago ID remains the same for a property's lifetime. 

Client ID 

Client-provided reference ID from their assets registry or management system. 

Building Name 

Name of the building as assigned by the client or as it may be known locally. 

Building Description 

Description of the building that provides a higher level of detail about the property, including occupancy, construction, importance, socioeconomic factors, and other details. 

Property Name 

Name for a collection of buildings on a site, the site name given by the client, or name given to the site locally. 

Number of Buildings 

The number of occupied buildings at a given location or address. 

Original Address 

Address as it is provided in the original Statement of Values (SOV). 

Street Address 

A combination of a building number and street name that geographically locates a building. 

State 

A component of the property address that more specifically locates the building in a region or country. 

Country 

Country is a location component of a property address. Address information is normally provided in a split format with each constituent part in a separate field, e.g. street / city / state / zip / country. 

County 

A primary geopolitical division within a state or country, serving as a regional unit of local government. Counties typically encompass multiple municipalities and unincorporated areas. 

Region 

A summary grouping to show where the location sits within the US or the wider world. 

Geo-code Level 

Geocoding is the action of assigning coordinates (latitude and longitude) to a location in order to identify its position on Earth relative to the equator and the prime meridian. 

Location 

An indication of where the property sits on the land — the exact, fixed position on Earth represented using geographical coordinates or a precise street address. 

Latitude 

The measurement of distance in degrees north or south of the Earth's equator. 

Longitude 

The angular distance of a place east or west of the Prime Meridian, measured in degrees, minutes, and seconds. 

Customer Provided Geocode 

Indicates whether the customer provided the latitude and longitude in the SOV. 

Postal Code 

A postal code or zip code is a series of letters, digits, or both, included in an address to streamline mail sorting and delivery.
